Fran is a viera, which is a humanoid race of Ivalice distinguished by their rabbit-like features and sensitivity to Mist, which is the source of magic. Viera are almost exclusively female, although rare male viera clans do exist. Their hearing and eyesight is extremely good, and they are known for their ability to communicate with the spirits of forests, woods, and otherworldly entities. Their lifespan is approximately 3 times that of humes, and once they reach adulthood the physical aging process stops entirely. Fran herself is at least 50 years old and appears maybe ~25 by hume standards. Because male and female viera clans are segregated, it isn't known how or if the viera reproduce like humes--it's entirely possible they sprout like buds from trees, as an extension of the wood. Who knows!! I like the sprouting theory, personally.

Viera are physically recognizable by their dark skin, red eyes, and silvery hair, not to mention their large rabbit-like ears. Fran in particular is over seven feet tall (215 cm) with her ears, and gains a few inches from her stilettos, as well. Her feet are shaped a little oddly, as she lacks the definition of a heel, but this isn't noticeable when she has shoes on. She has long white hair that she keeps tied back, and actually does have a small rabbit tail on her lower back--though it's usually not visible due to her armor. Speaking of armor, this is Fran's typical getup, and this is how she looks from the back. Fran's outfits involve both iron armor and lingerie, with a weapon at her side and a pair of spiked stilettos on her feet. May the Gods help you if you make any untoward comments about her appearance when she's equipped with an axe.

Personality-wise, Fran is quiet, reserved, and can sometimes come across as cold and intimidating. She definitely has a stoic exterior, but she isn't unfriendly or emotionless. She and Balthier are thick as thieves, quite literally, so they're typically a package deal if you want to get to know one or the other. Fran will sometimes speak for both of them ("We feel regret") in certain situations, but more often than not Balthier is the one doing the talking. Because Fran is an exiled viera, she is used to solitude and even loneliness--but she appreciates earnest attempts to reach out to her, and doesn't think herself above others.

Fran's skills are many and varied: she can use nearly every type of weapon, though her default is the bow and arrow. She has lots of magic and three Quickenings, which are massive magic strikes that can physically alter the nearby surroundings. For the purposes of RP, I lean Fran towards ice attacks, but really it's anything goes. Because she's a Final Fantasy character, her abilities are tricked out like whoa, so she's no pushover. Like all viera, her eyesight and hearing are superpower-good, although they aren't as good as most viera since years away from the wood dull her senses somewhat.

Finally, exposure to large amounts of magic will drive Fran berserk, and physically alter her appearance: her nails grow long into claws, and her teeth into fangs; as she absorbs the magic, it amps her strength stat significantly, and she will probably try to tear someone's jugular out with her bare hands. This effect wears off eventually, but it drains her and is dangerous to try and trigger. Unless you're into that. (unsure)
